NDMA provides tools that patients can use to gather, manage and secure copies of their personal health information with confidence and reliability. They can store their medical records and diagnostic images in a personal digital image locker, which is secured by the National Digital Medical Archive.
With NDMA, consumers can:
- Upload medical records, images and other personal health-related files to a private locker that resides in a secure archive hosted by NDMA
- Identify actual clinical documents and images that reside in NDMA
- Email user-authorized documents out of private locker
- View audit trail summary of transactions
- Receive notifications of new clinical content available in private locker
- Receive reminders to do specific acts (e.g., perform BSE, take medication, etc.)
- Facilitate portability of PHR content
