Berwyn, PA — October 9, 2007 - Coinciding with National
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, National Digital Medical Archive, Inc.
[NDMA] through its consumer portal, myNDMA.com has launched two new
Google™ Desktop gadgets designed to remind women to perform routine
monthly Breast Self Examinations (BSEs) and obtain routine annual
mammography studies, as well as help them locate radiology facilities
where state-of-the-art digital mammography is offered. These innovative
tools are used with the Google Desktop™ application and are being
provided free to women to remind them of the importance of maintaining
breast well health.
The BSE gadget, designed using the
pink ribbon symbol for breast cancer awareness, is a desktop presence
providing daily reminders to consumers that a monthly breast self exam
and yearly clinical breast exam should be performed. For patients who
are seeking a radiology facility that offers digital mammography, the myNDMA Digital Facility Locator directs users to those facilities simply by entering a zip code.
As recently featured on the CBS news affiliate (KYW) in Philadelphia https://www.myndma.com/myndma/news/InitNews.do,
myNDMA is empowering women to save lives. It is a free web-based
portal designed to help patients manage their medical images such as
mammograms and MRIs, and personal health records (PHRs), and more
effectively partner with their healthcare providers.

"The
American Cancer Society (ACS) recommends that women age 40 years and
older should have a screening mammogram every year. Unfortunately, not
all mammograms detect breast cancer, and therefore it is recommended
that women also perform monthly breast self exams. The myNDMA Breast Self Examination Reminder
available through Google is an excellent tool to remind women to take a
more proactive approach to maintaining breast health," stated Diane
Hockstein, EVP – Web Services Group, NDMA.
